Hyjal Summit Attunement Guide: The Vials of Eternity Route

A practical Hyjal Summit attunement checklist covering Keepers of Time, Soridormi, Lady Vashj, Kael'thas, and The Vials of Eternity turn-in.

This is one of the shortest raid attunements in TBC Classic. It only requires you to defeat the final bosses of the two Tier 5 raids and turn in the quest items.

Important Notes (Current Status):

  • In Phase 4 and later, raid attunements were removed. You can enter Hyjal Summit without completing this quest.
  • Completing the attunement is still highly recommended for:
    • Scale of the Sands reputation (starts you at Friendly)
    • Access to the epic ring questline (Band of Eternity upgrades)
    • Progress toward the Hand of A’dal title (requires both Hyjal + Black Temple attunements)
  • On Anniversary realms, attunements are generally account-wide once completed.

Use this as the quick checklist for raiders who still need The Vials of Eternity, Scale of the Sands access, or Hand of A'dal progress.

Priority Checklist

  • Reach level 70, finish Keepers of Time reputation, and pick up The Vials of Eternity from Soridormi before raid night.
  • Have the quest active before Lady Vashj and Kael'thas kills so the vial remnants can be looted immediately.
  • Turn in both remnants at Caverns of Time to unlock Scale of the Sands reputation and the Band of Eternity ring path.

Requirements Before Starting

  1. Level 70
  2. Revered reputation with Keepers of Time
  3. Access to Serpentshrine Cavern (SSC)
  4. Access to Tempest Keep: The Eye

How to Reach Revered with Keepers of Time

  • Run Old Hillsbrad Foothills (Normal) → Honored
  • Run The Black Morass (Normal) → Honored
  • Continue with either dungeon on Heroic until Revered (Heroic Black Morass is very efficient)

Tip: Once Revered, speak to Zephyr in Shattrath City (World’s End Tavern) for a free teleport to the Caverns of Time.

Step-by-Step Attunement

Step 1: Pick Up the Quest

  1. Travel to the Caverns of Time in Tanaris.
  2. Enter the caverns and go to the lower central area.
  3. Find Soridormi (she patrols — circle the area if you don’t see her immediately).
  4. Accept the quest: The Vials of Eternity.

Soridormi asks you to retrieve two items:

  • Vashj’s Vial Remnant
  • Kael’s Vial Remnant

Step 2: Obtain Vashj’s Vial Remnant

  1. Form a 25-player raid and enter Serpentshrine Cavern (Coilfang Reservoir, Zangarmarsh).
  2. Clear the raid and defeat Lady Vashj (final boss).
  3. Loot Vashj’s Vial Remnant from her corpse.

Notes:

  • You must have The Vials of Eternity in your quest log for the item to drop.
  • In current versions, one remnant drops per player who has the quest (originally it was limited).

Step 3: Obtain Kael’s Vial Remnant

  1. Form a 25-player raid and enter Tempest Keep: The Eye (Netherstorm).
  2. Clear the raid and defeat Kael’thas Sunstrider (final boss).
  3. Loot Kael’s Vial Remnant from his corpse.

Notes:

  • Same rules as above — quest must be active.
  • Both remnants can be obtained in any order.

Step 4: Turn In the Quest

  1. Return to Soridormi in the Caverns of Time.
  2. Turn in The Vials of Eternity.

Rewards:

  • You are now attuned to Hyjal Summit (if attunement is still required on your realm/phase).
  • +3000 reputation with Scale of the Sands (puts you at Friendly).
  • Unlocks follow-up quests for the Band of Eternity epic ring (upgradable with further Scale of the Sands reputation).

After Attunement

Scale of the Sands Reputation

This is the reputation faction tied to Hyjal Summit. You gain reputation by:

  • Killing bosses and trash in Hyjal
  • Completing related quests

Rewards include:

  • Upgradable epic rings (Band of Eternity → higher versions)
  • Access to Indormi (vendor inside Hyjal) for epic gems and other items at higher reputation levels

Related Titles

Completing both the Hyjal Summit and Black Temple attunements contributes to the Hand of A’dal title.

Tips for Efficiency

  • Coordinate with your guild so multiple people get the vials on the same SSC/TK clears.
  • If you are already clearing SSC and TK weekly, simply have the quest in your log before the kills.
  • Keep both vial remnants in your bags until you turn them in (they are quest items).
  • Once attuned (or after Phase 4), you can enter Hyjal freely. The quest is still worth doing for the reputation and ring.
